ASSISTANT PROFESSOR: COMMUNICATION (RHETORIC). The Department of Communication at The College at Brockport, SUNY, invites applications for the tenure-track position of Assistant Professor of Communication with a specialization in political rhetoric. The job begins in August, 2012.
Responsibilities: Teach three courses each semester at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Courses may include Political Rhetoric in the Information Age; Protest and Public Opinion; Propaganda and Persuasion; Speech Composition and Presentation; Argumentation and Debate; and Freedom of Expression.
Minimum qualifications: Doctorate in communication or related field. ABD candidates must earn their doctoral degree within six months of hire. Candidates must demonstrate evidence of successful teaching, ability to teach courses in rhetoric relevant to the position, ongoing scholarship, ability to teach a culturally diverse student population, and ability to enhance diversity through teaching, research and/or service activities.
