The Arts Management Program, IU Jazz Studies Program, and SPEA Career Services present a panel discussion on the Jazz Industry on Tuesday, February 1, 12.30-2pm, in the Music Annex 454.
The discussion will focus on career development for artists, promoters, agents, managers, producers, and anyone interested in the music industry, as well as current issues. Free refreshments will be served courtesy of SPEA Career Services.

Steve Frumkin joined Jim Wadsworth Productions in 2000 in order to increase the company's productions of concerts and private events and to build the agency division. With Steve's arrival, the company has doubled their concert productions as well as built the international booking agency from scratch. Prior to joining the company, Steve held various executive level positions with the world's largest technology companies including Triumph-Adler Royal, Olivetti, Nortel Networks, Dictaphone Corporation, and Xerox Global Services.
David Allee (Jazz Kitchen, Indianapolis- Indy Jazz Fest) www.thejazzkitchen.com
Owner of The Jazz Kitchen in Indianapolis since 1994. "One of the Top 100 Jazz Clubs in the World" as rated by Downbeat Magazine. In addition, he has = also served as the festival director for the Indy Jazz Fest since 2009.
Rich Dole (trombonist, Owl Studios) www.owlstudios.com
After receiving a Bachelor of Mu-sic in Trombone Performance and a Masters of Music in Jazz Studies from Indiana University, Richard Dole moved to Indianapolis where he continues today to be a top call freelance musician on both bass and tenor trombone in all genres. Rich also works for the Indianapolis Jazz Record label Owl Studios, helping to promote and market their artists through traditional means and social media.
David Brent Johnson (WFIU) www.wfiu.indiana.edu
Born in Indianapolis, Indiana, David Brent Johnson moved to Bloomington in 1991. He is an alumnus of Indiana University, and began working with WFIU in 2002. Currently, David serves as jazz producer and systems coordinator at the station. He is the host of the nationally-syndicated WFIU jazz program= 'Night Lights'.
