The Apple iPad is a new type of device that challenges the conventional definition, function and design of a computer (or specifically, a laptop/mobile computer). The iPad’s small size, touch-screen interface and ability to run thousands of programs suggest the possibility for engaging teaching and learning applications.
We invite you to apply to participate in a Faculty Learning Community
(FLC) that will focus on the use and implications of the iPad to technology-enhanced pedagogy. The primary goal of a FLC is to explore best practices in teaching and learning. Please see Call for Applications for more specific information.
Information sessions will be held at the Teaching and Learning Technology Center, Wells Library 305 West Tower on July 12 @ 10:00 a.m. and July 13 @ 1:00 p.m. (the 7/13 session will repeat information presented in the 7/12 session). We encourage you to attend one of these sessions to learn more about the iPad and possible use of the device in your discipline. Please register online at http://www.indiana.edu/~tltc. Click on the Technology Integration Series (TIS). Deadline for applications is Monday, August 2, 2010 @ 5:00 PM
This Faculty Learning Community is co-sponsored by University Information Technology Services (UITS) and the Office of the Vice Provost for Undergraduate Education.
