"Skin Deep"

A profile of Parameswaran's research on beauty, media, and globalization appears in the Fall 2009 issue of Indiana University's Research & Creativity Magazine, which focuses on scholarship related to beauty in IU's eight campuses. The article titled "Skin Deep" examines a decade of Parameswaran's research including her work on the controversial 1996 Miss World pageant, news accounts of India's six global beauty queens, and the global skin-lightening cosmetics industry.
